With fall fast approaching, the SilverFirst Inc team is gearing up for one of our favorite seasons of the year! New Orleans is a great place to live year-round, but something about the fall months truly makes our home city magical. Today, we’ve come up with a list of our favorite activities to do during the fall months. If you are in the area or looking for a fun fall getaway, consider tackling our list of ultimate suggestions.
Fall means football season and all of us can’t wait to cheer on The Saints! Home games are spent celebrating at the Superdome or one of the many local sports bars in the area. Whether you are attending the game or just looking to soak in the atmosphere, New Orleans is where it’s at! If professional football isn’t quite your cup of tea, check out some college ball! Our team loves attending Tulane game at Yulman Stadium Uptown or venturing an hour to Baton Rouge to catch the LSU Tigers.
Fried Chicken Festival
A whole festival dedicated to delicious fried chicken?! Sign us up! This year, the fried chicken festival will be held September 20-22 all day long. Grab your family and friends and make sure to enjoy some of the world’s best chicken! With over 35 restaurants, two stages packed with music, cooking demonstrations, and so much more, there is something for everyone!
Crescent City Blues and BBQ Fest
If you love great music, delicious BBQ, and street art, then this fest is perfect for you! During the weekend of October 18-20, gather in Lafayette Square to explore multiple food vendors, an arts market, and live performances all weekend long! Whoever thought to put blues and BBQ together is a true genius! You can bet that the SilverFirst Inc team will be there.
New Orleans Film Festival
Calling all film fanatics! Did you know New Orleans is home to a spectacular film festival during the fall? From October 16-23, filmmakers and film-watchers alike can gather to see movies that could potentially make it to the big screen! The New Orleans Film Festival also serves as the Oscar-qualifying event for films screened throughout the week. Prices per film vary, but attendees can expect to pay $9 to $15 per screening.
Voodoo Music + Arts Experience
This event will cost you around $75 to $140 per ticket, but it is well worth the price! Every Halloween weekend, The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience completely takes over City Park’s festival grounds for the concert of the season! Artists who have performed here before range from classics like Guns N Roses to iconic modern-day artists like Post Malone. Grab your friends and come “worship the music” at this amazing fall experience.
Are you a fan of raw oysters? Fall marks the beginning of oyster season in the Gulf Coast due to the drop in temperature of the water. Many restaurants will offer happy hour specials featuring this delicious treat, so keep your eyes open. Take advantage of the fall months and enjoy oysters, New Orleans style!
We hope our list has got you excited for fall! Our home city of New Orleans has so much to offer, so make sure you take advantage of everything! The SilverFirst Inc Team wishes you a fantastic fall full of amazing adventures!
